Eilo Interview 2010
First of all, we want to say thank you for being our Artist of the Weekend. It is such a pleasure to have a piece of you in our source. Now let me start with the questionnaire…
Thank you for the kind invitation, too.
Everybody treats music differently and probably this is what makes the magic…How did everything begin with you?
Like most people I was influenced by my parents. My father had a rock’n’roll record collection and some reel to reel tapes and a good sound system as well. When I was a child my mother used to take me with her to clubs and I really enjoyed dancing to disco music. Then I started to collect my own tapes and CD’s, making compilations etc. At a later stage I re-discovered the vinyl as a DJ.
How do you get your inspiration?
The good vibes from the last party are a good inspiration. Some people of course are doing the job, too. There are many ways to feel inspired.
What about the moments when you are all alone? How do you enjoy them?
I listen to a strange music like 60‘s Space-Age Futurism, all kind of Mort Garson type of stuff, I clean and arrange my precious vinyl records, I cook, I play with my huge Labrador, sometimes I do nothing…
What is your opinion about the modern sound and the way the people get attracted by it?
I don’t like “modern stuff”…I mean modern today, means démodé tomorrow. Of course I play “new” music but I don’t pay attention on what’s on charts or what other people play.
Tell us about your future activities and plans.
I plan to start a record label.
If you must describe your style with a color what will it look like? Why?
Warm colors.
Which is the party that you will never forget?
There are a lot of unforgettable parties, but definitely some of my favorites are the ones with my friends Asad Rizvi and DJ Ilko.
What would you say for all of the people who use drugs?
Do it for fun, not because it has to!
Is there anybody next to you at the moment? What part of your life does love take?
Next to me is my Funktion One sound system, which I really love. It was love at first sign actually. It’s someone who pays attention on what you want, and in the same time you never get bored with it. And has a great voice.
What is the most important thing for you in one track? Do we all need to search for the deeper meaning?
Yeah, definitely I look for deeper meaning. This is why we’re called Loving Deep.
Club or Open area?
Club may be.
Think or feel?
Feel, I do feel.
Is producing music the best alternative for international success?
It’s not only important for the international success. It’s the only way to get the level upper. At the same time we all know amazing DJ’s, who’s music is produced by someone else and great producers who are terrible DJ’s.
How do you treat your fans? How does their attention make you feel?
We’re all friends.
Do you enjoy the parties when you are not behind the desks?
Yes, I love clubbing. I am so happy to get back home wasted from some awesome party that someone else did.
Do you like our source http://eilo.org/ ? Any suggestions?
I think it should be a bit easier to navigate.
Do you think you leave a trace behind?
I hope, but to be honest I don’t believe I do something unforgettable.
Who is your favorite artist for all times and why?
There is no all time hero. We’re all temporary.
How do you select your tracks for a party?
I don’t. I choose my music by listening to the previews in online music portals. I rarely listen to other DJ’s mixes.
When you get back home after a very good party, what is on your mind?
Usually I don’t go home after a good party
Please, tell us your favorite thought and give us your wishes! Eilo.org supports you. Respect!
Well, it sounds like a cliché but let’s quote Oscar Wilde: “I have the simplest taste…I am always satisfied with the best.” Cheers, Eilo!
